Launching
Review the app, runtime target, account, and startup options before creating a server.
The Run an app dialog creates a server for a saved app. The selected broker can affect the runtime used at launch, so review the complete selection rather than assuming the saved app type is the final execution mode.
Review the launch choices
- Select the intended saved app and confirm its instrument and source.
- Select a broker if the chosen app type requires one. Check its recognizable name and Live/Paper label against the intended account.
- Review the server target and any available runtime options.
- Review warmup and its duration; choose data initialization appropriate to the strategy.
- If using multiple apps, review every follower and the compatibility result.
- Select Run App and inspect the resulting server.
Simulated types can be brokerless. Broker availability and supported combinations depend on the app family, launch configuration, and access. A displayed broker entry alone does not prove that its credentials or instruments are usable.
Warmup is part of startup
Warmup feeds preceding historical observations to initialize supported runtime state. Native Pine live sessions default to one hour unless configured otherwise; the launch dialog can override the setting.
Memory historical tests use their selected window instead of fetching that live preload. Compare initialization explicitly when moving from a historical run to a running session.
A successful launch does not establish that warmup delivered complete data. Check diagnostics and current input timestamps. Read warmup and readiness.
Verify the resulting session
Wait for status updates and inspect incoming data, logs, orders, and positions. Record the server identity as well as the source app: multiple runs of the same app are separate executions.
If launch reports an error, read it before retrying. App access, required brokers, duplicate server paths, incompatible followers, capacity, and runtime startup can fail at different stages. Check whether a server was created before submitting again.
